Description

The Otter Telescoping Shovel is one of those simple pieces of ice gear you are glad you packed when the wind starts moving snow across the lake. It is ideal for banking portable shelters, clearing slush around the hole, digging out a sled, or making a cleaner spot to set up before the bite window opens. The anodized aluminum scoop and telescoping aluminum shaft keep it sturdy without turning your sled into a gym workout, while the polycarbonate T-handle gives you a practical grip with gloves on. Collapsed down, it stores neatly in a sled or fish house. Extended, it gives you useful reach for quick snow work without hauling a full-size shovel onto the ice.

Reviews and Q&A

FAQs

This shovel is made for everyday ice fishing chores like banking snow around a portable shelter, clearing slush from your setup area, and digging out a sled after drifting snow. It is a compact tool for keeping camp cleaner and more comfortable without packing a full-size shovel.
The shovel collapses to 18 inches long x 9 inches wide, making it easy to stash in many ice fishing sleds, portable houses, or gear totes. That compact size is handy when space is already claimed by rods, bait, heaters, snacks, and probably too many tackle boxes.
Yes, the Otter Telescoping Shovel weighs 1.5 lbs, so it is easy to bring along when you are pulling a sled or hopping from spot to spot. The aluminum scoop and shaft help keep weight down while still giving you a practical snow and slush tool.
The polycarbonate T-handle gives you a straightforward grip that is easier to manage with gloves than a narrow shaft alone. As with any compact shovel, heavy mittens can feel bulky, but the T-handle design helps when you are working in cold, snowy conditions.
